One of the more intriguing available prospects in Wisconsin’s 2024 class who has
continued to greatly improve his game and produce is Tyshawn Teague-Johnson.
After a breakout grassroots season with the Wisconsin Dynasty, the 6’5” wing guard
has continued that play into the high school season at Beloit Turner.
Currently, Teague-Johnson is averaging a double-double. He is averaging 16.5
points and 11.8 rebounds leading his team in both of those categories in addition
to 3.8 assists and 1.3 steals. “I feel at the beginning of my season I had a rough start
but slowly picked it up and got back into it, gaining a lot more confidence in myself
and team,” he said about the season. He has led them to a 7-3 record so far.
Right now, in his recruitment he has both division and three level programs
recruiting him. He has athletic offers from Carroll, Loras, North Central University,
UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Whitewater. As well, Southwest Minnesota State is the
division two program who is showing the most interest in him.
“High character and can score at all three levels,” is how his coach with the
Wisconsin Dynasty, Eddie Singleton described him. “Ty is a 6’5”sleeper in the state
of Wisconsin…Plays hard on both ends with a motor, unselfish, team player, great
defender at multiple positions, handles the ball well enough to bring it up and dish
out assists. Speed and vertical abilities to get noticed ninety seconds into the
game,” he added in.
Teague-Johnson is in no rush to make his college commitment. “I was going to
commit after my season is over with, giving myself time to consider all my options
and see what’s best for me.”
