While Chris Davis Jr. had already been the state of Wisconsin’s leading scorer, he
took it to another level this week. The 2025 6’4” guard was averaging a remarkable
39.4 points per game for Sun Prairie West (WI) before his record performance on
Thursday.
In his teams 103-91 win over Carmen Northwest who had a 6-1 record entering the
game, Davis scored 61 points. He also did it effectively shooting 25-38 from the field
in addition to adding in 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. In this career best
game, Davis also reached the 1,000-point milestone for his high school career.
“I came out the game fired up,” Davis said about the performance. “I was motivated
right away because it was my thousand-point game, and I was just so fired out the
gate and was ready to play. Breaking my career high and setting my new high
school record this year was just amazing.”
With the great development of his game, he is one of the more underrecruited
juniors in all of Wisconsin. Arkansas State became the first school to offer him back
in July and Bryant also offered him in August. Since then, has not received another
offer but Eastern Washington, Green Bay, Illinois, New Mexico, and UC-Davis have
all shown interest in the junior.
“Shai Gilgeous-Alexander,” he compared aspects of his play when asked about his
game. Adding in, “big guard, can score at will, find open teammates, get after on
defense.”
While Davis has been able to consistently score the ball at an elite level throughout
this season, he has a different type of goal moving forward. He is looking to “go to
the Kohl Center” for the state tournament to finish off the high school season.
