As we get deeper into the current high school season, there are plenty of players worthy
of some recognition. Here are several under the radar juniors having great seasons for
college coaches to be familiar with.
Anestis Hadjistamoulou – 2025 – PG – Glenbrook South (IL)
One of the more skilled 2025-point guards in his area who has only continued to get
better throughout his high school career. He moves very well with the ball in his hands
and has good quickness to be able to get into the defense and create often. As well, he
is a skilled passer that knows how to play and can also hit shots from the outside. He
started his junior year with all-tournament team honors at the Molitor Thanksgiving
Classic and has continued to play well from there.
Nevaeh Hawkins – 2025 – SF – St. Patrick (IL)
A player that has taken great strides in his game to be making a name for himself in his
junior season. He has good physical tools standing at 6’7” with plenty of length and
athleticism. He has developed into an impactful player who can score in a variety of
ways, rebound the ball at a high level, and defend multiple positions effectively. Look for
Hawkins to be a popular target in the coming months.
Miles Jackson – 2025 – G – New Albany (OH)
Jackson impressed over the summer during his play with All Ohio Select. He is an
athletic 6’3” guard with a very good scoring ability. With his ability to put up plenty of
points, he can get it done himself creating in the mid-range or taking it strong all the way
to the basket. Jackson has a lot of tools for the next level and should be getting himself
on college radars.
Kaden MacKenzie – 2025 – G – Waunakee (WI)
It has been a real breakout season for MacKenzie. He has gone from chipping in with
6.8 points last season as a sophomore to now leading his team this season in scoring at
13.7 points helping them to a 7-1 record currently. He is also second on the team in
rebounds averaging 7 and leads them in both assists and steals with 3.3 and 2.9 per
game, respectively. As well to having some size in the backcourt at 6’3” he is a skilled
guard who knows how to play and has a versatile skill set to be a standout on both
sides of the ball.
Grant Mordini – 2025 – PF – Lake Forest (IL)
The junior first stands out with his great size standing at 6’10” but there is much more to
him on the court than height alone. Even with his great size, Mordini still moves well out
on the floor and runs the floor hard. He has shown during his junior season a good
ability to finish around the paint, developing perimeter skills, and improved ability to
defend the paint. A high upside player to track in Illinois’ 2025 class.
